AREAS OF SPECIALITY

STRESS

Stress can take a toll on both the mind and body, often manifesting in ways we don’t even realize. From tension headaches to trouble sleeping, stress can quietly affect our daily functioning, making it harder to focus, connect with others, or feel at ease. By developing effective coping strategies and learning to manage stress in a healthy way, we can create more balance and resilience in our lives.

TRAUMA

Trauma, whether past or recent, can leave a lasting imprint on our emotional and physical well-being. Even when we aren’t consciously aware of it, unresolved trauma can shape our thoughts, behaviors, and interactions in subtle but profound ways. In a safe and supportive space, we can begin to process these experiences, work through emotions, and take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.

DEPRESSION

Depression can be overwhelming, affecting energy levels, motivation, and daily life in ways that feel difficult to escape. It can make even the simplest tasks feel exhausting and cloud the ability to find joy or purpose. But you don’t have to navigate it alone. Through evidence-based techniques, we can work together to develop coping strategies, challenge negative thought patterns, and take small, meaningful steps toward improving well-being.

ANXIETY

Anxiety can be relentless, creating a constant sense of worry, restlessness, or unease that interferes with daily life. It can manifest as racing thoughts, physical tension, or a feeling of being on edge, making it difficult to relax or stay present. But managing anxiety is possible. By using evidence-based techniques, we can work together to build coping strategies, reframe anxious thoughts, and regain a sense of control and calm.

BURNOUT

Burnout can leave you feeling drained, unmotivated, and emotionally exhausted, making even the tasks you once enjoyed feel overwhelming. My goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can discuss your concerns openly and without fear of judgment. We will use various techniques to help you identify and manage your stress, allowing you to regain control of your life.

GRIEF

Grief is a deeply personal experience that can bring a range of emotions, from sadness and anger to confusion and numbness. Navigating loss can feel isolating, and adapting to a new reality may seem overwhelming. In a compassionate and supportive space, we can explore healthy ways to process grief, develop coping strategies, and honor your unique journey toward healing.

NEURODIVERGENCE

Psychotherapy services for neurodivergent clients aim to provide support and understanding tailored to the unique needs and perspectives of individuals with neurodivergent conditions. Neurodivergence includes conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and others. Together we will work on skill building and goal setting to help clients function in an optimal way.

INSURANCE

Unfortunately, OHIP does not cover counselling and psychotherapy services, however, many companies provide health insurance, employee assistance and extended healthcare plans that do include counselling and psychotherapy services. It is recommended that you speak with your insurance provider. It is recommended that you contact your insurance provider for information on reimbursement, limitations and required referrals. If you’re unsure, your benefits administrator (ie. human resources department) can provide guidance on how to access mental health support through your plan.

Please not that Aislin Temple Psychotherapy does not deal directly with insurance companies. It is the responsibility of the client to submit the session invoice to their insurance company for reimbursement.
